Dan Doyle is a respected photographer based in Queens New York. He owns his own studio, Dan Doyle Photography, where he experiments with the newest techniques to make his photography stand out.
Beginnings
Doyle grew up in Pleasantville Ohio, where he attended local schools. He was inspired to become a photographer thanks to a high school art teacher who encouraged him to pursue his craft. He began by taking pictures for the high school newspaper and yearbook. Action photography soon led to portraits, and he began taking posed and casual pictures of his friends in his spare time.
After high school, Doyle attended Ohio State University, where he majored in art and took many photography courses. He honed his skills through his coursework, assembling an impressive portfolio across all styles of photography. He learned to use full-featured digital cameras while he was a student, and he began to build his personal collection of lenses and cameras.
Career
Doyle started a photography business on the side while he was still in college. He started out as a studio photographer, setting up a dedicated area in his apartment for his photography equipment. As the years went by, he gained a good reputation in the area, dabbling in many different facets of photography.
After graduation, Doyle took a gap year in Europe. He brought his photography equipment and began to appreciate the challenge of photographing architecture and landscape. He documented his trip with hundreds of photos, sharing some of them on his blog. His blog caught the attention of major magazines in the United States, and soon he was working for them part-time.
New York
He returned to Ohio for a short time after his gap year, but he realized that he would not be able to explore all of his career possibilities in a relatively small city. He decided to move to Queens New York where he opened a studio. He started by taking studio photographs but he soon branched out into event photography. He took pictures of concerts, weddings, children, and families while he was refining his concept of what photography could be.
Doyle also began to work on headshots in his studio in Jackson Heights Queens, starting with friends who were breaking into the entertainment industry. His creative and exciting headshots made a name for him in the acting and music communities in New York.
Doyle began experimenting with videography in New York, and he made it part of his business soon after. He started by capturing local street scenes and everyday happenings around Queens, but he soon began doing videos of events and musicians.
Teaching
Doyle has also begun to offer photography and videography courses out of his studio, teaching people of all ages how to get the most out of their cameras. With twenty years of expertise, he is a valued teacher whose students have gone on to become avid amateur photographers.
In his spare time, Doyle enjoys travel, hiking, and bicycling. He is dedicated to the outdoors and often takes trips to upstate New York where he can take landscape photos and enjoy the scenery that is so different from New York City.
From his humble beginnings in Pleasantville Ohio, Dan Doyle has become an important figure in the New York photography community. He continually works to improve his skills both in his studio in Jackson Heights Queens and in the local community.
